General Election Results
Elections are a critical part of the democratic process and are one way that provides members a voice in the running of their organization. NEHA voting members have an opportunity to vote for candidates of contested board of directors and regional vice-president positions, as well as cast votes regarding proposed Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws changes. National officers of NEHA's board of directors serve a 1-year term in each officer position (second vice-president, first vice-president, president-elect, president, and immediate past-president) for a total of 5 years. Regional vice-presidents serve -year terms.

Regional Vice-Presidents (RVPs)

All three regions had only one eligible candidate and did not appear on the election ballot. Each of these candidates will automatically assume their RVP roles at the close of the NEHA 2021 AEC & Exhibition Three-Part Virtual Series in July 2021. Their terms will expire in 2024. NEHA Articles of Incorporation & Bylaws Change
This past year, the NEHA Board of Directors voted unanimously to approve a vote by membership surrounding changes to the language pertaining to the Annual Affiliate Presidents’ Council. The revision aims to create more flexibility with planning the Affiliate Presidents’ Council recognizing it may not always be possible to coincide the Council Meeting with an in-person AEC. The revisions would also change the format of reports from oral presentations during the meeting to written reports distributed prior to the meeting to allow for more discussion during the Affiliate Presidents’ Council. The NEHA Board of Directors unanimously endorsed the revision and voted in favor of sending it to NEHA members for a vote. The language change was approved by the majority of membership during the 2021 election.
